How It Works

I believe a professional speech writing service shouldn't only provide you with a great speech, but should also make the process as risk free as possible! So you'll see below that I offer custom samples and unlimited revisions.

Please note that, due to my workload, I only answer inquiries by email. After you have paid, I do offer phone / Zoom support as well.

  1. Speech Writing Rates. First make sure you know that my rates are right for you. My rates may be above those who are just starting into this business, but this is reflecting 20+ years of professional writing experience, and I still charge less than many pros. Please follow that link to "my rates" to see what I currently charge.

  2. Sharing Information. You get involved only as much as you want to be involved. Tell me any stories, quotes, facts, statistics, etc. that you want included in your speech. Tell me if you have certain resources you want me to look over. Tell me if you prefer a certain approach to the speech. Or leave it in my hands. That's up to you.

This is done by filling out information forms that I have online for different types of speeches, or answering questions by email, or speaking by phone or Zoom. Whatever makes the most sense for you.

If you're filling out a form, you don't need to write well. You just need to give me the personal information and ideas that I cannot know and that I will need to write the speech.

  3. Samples. If your speech is more than 5 minutes long, I will take the information you share and provide a custom sample before you ever invest a dime. This way, you know if I can meet your needs and you'll see how you like working with me. There is no obligation to move forward if you're not happy with this initial work.

If your speech is 5 minutes or less, you can check out my online samples: business speech sample or wedding speech sample.

  4. Making a Payment. Once you are satisfied with my rates and my sample and you want to move forward, I will request that you make payment in full through this page.

The payment is made via PayPal, but please note that you don't need a PayPal account. You can use your credit card. As soon as I'm notified of payment from PayPal, I can begin work on the rest of the first draft.

  5. Making Revisions. Many clients find that the first draft gets them very close to what they're looking for. But whether my first draft is close or not, I am available for minor or major changes as long as we have time. My goal is to see you end up with the perfect speech.

The only "exception" to this rule is that I cannot have you approve the direction of a speech and even approve actual work, only to come back later with NEW information and/or someone else's input, and then expect me to keep making changes for the same price. These are not really revisions -- it's new writing.

Obviously the earlier you contact me before your speech, the more time we'll have for changes. I can help with last minute speech requests, but this increases the risk for you since I'll have less chance to improve it with your input.

Thank you for your interest. I look forward to helping out with your speech!
