Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Hire a Speech Writer?
Well, not everyone should. It depends on your circumstance.

A lot of people hire speechwriters for social speeches, like wedding speeches and toasts, retirement roasts, and so on. If they've got the funds and it makes them more comfortable to have something really polished, or they just don't have the time to write something themselves, this makes sense for them. I personally feel that, outside of high-profile social events, this kind of outside help isn't necessary. Audiences in this case ENJOY a great speech, but they're supportive almost no matter what.

On the other hand, if you're a professional, you need to come across like one. So unless you've got time AND great speech writing skills, it makes sense to bring a specialist on board to give you a hand. You can still put as much or as little as you like into the speech, but a good speech writer can make sure that your thoughts are clear and organized, and that they carry the appropriate tone.

Why Should I Hire "Your Speech Writer"?
Actually, everyone's needs are different, and I'm sure that my service is perfect for some and not ideal for others. For instance, the first element you need to consider when hiring a service is the cost. If you can afford a service, then the next question is whether the writer can capture your voice. If a sample shows you that he can, then the last question is whether you enjoy working with that writer.

This service ("Your Speech Writer") charges above the rates of new writers or those who churn out cookie-cutter speeches en masse. My rates represent the fact that I've written for hundreds of satisfied clients since 2002. Still, it is half (or less!) of what some writers charge. My goal is to be fairly paid for my time while offering care, service, and unlimited revisions for every client.

For those who can afford my service and need a speech over 5 minutes long (meaning that a custom sample is available), I'd say that my custom samples end up convincing about 85 to 90% of their recipients that I can help.

Once I'm working for clients, I have approximately a 100% satisfaction rate because I provide unlimited revisions and I get things done on time -- reason enough to choose Your Speech Writer!

What is the Cost of this Service?
Please see my rates. My rates include speaking to you by phone or email; some online research if needed; and unlimited revisions.

How Can I Get a Custom Speech Sample?
If you are considering my speech writing service and want to get a custom speech sample so that you know EXACTLY what I can do for you, I am happy to provide this kind of sample as long as your eventual speech will be over 5 minutes long (and we have time to work with).

For speeches of 5 minutes or less, you can see my sample speeches through the navigation bar.

To get your custom sample, simply visit the contact page and fill in all the appropriate fields. This gives me the information I need to develop that sample. If you need to provide additional information before I start writing, we can talk by phone or e-mail after you've sent in that initial form.
