Why Should I Hire a Speech Writer?

Well, not everyone should. It depends on your circumstance.

A lot of people hire speechwriters for social speeches, like wedding speeches and toasts, retirement roasts, and so on. If they've got the funds and it makes them more comfortable to have something really polished, or they just don't have the time to write something themselves, this makes sense for them. I personally feel that, outside of high-profile social events, this kind of outside help isn't necessary. Audiences in this case ENJOY a great speech, but they're supportive almost no matter what.

On the other hand, if you're a professional, you need to come across like one. So unless you've got time AND great speech writing skills, it makes sense to bring a specialist on board to give you a hand. You can still put as much or as little as you like into the speech, but a good speech writer can make sure that your thoughts are clear and organized, and that they carry the appropriate tone.

Why Should I Hire "Your Speech Writer"?

Actually, everyone's needs are different, and I'm sure that my service is perfect for some and not ideal for others. For instance, the first element you need to consider when hiring a service is the cost. If you can afford a service, then the next question is whether the writer can capture your voice. If a sample shows you that he can, then the last question is whether you enjoy working with that writer.

While this service ("Your Speech Writer") is about half the cost of many professional speech writing services, I probably charge more than many writers who are just entering the field. I try to strike an appropriate balance -- I want to be well paid for my time, because I provide my clients with outstanding service (and sometimes unpaid add-ons). But I don't feel the need to charge what some pros charge. So I think that I end up providing an excellent value.

For those who can afford my service, I'd say that my custom samples end up convincing about 85% of their recipients that I can help. Some people simply don't feel that I've matched their voices well enough, and probably a few just take the sample and use it without paying. I'm not worried about that -- most people who approach me are sincere and honest about this system, and that makes it worthwhile.

Once I'm working for clients, I have approximately a 100% satisfaction rate because I provide unlimited revisions and I get things done on time -- reason enough to choose Your Speech Writer!

What is the Cost of this Service?

While some professional speechwriters charge more than $100 per minute of a speech, I charge just $50/minute and provide unlimited revisions to ensure your satisfaction. This also includes time for research and any necessary conversations with you.

I can also produce an audio file of ME presenting your speech so that you can listen and get a feel for how pauses and emphasis can give more power to your speech. I try to indicate pauses and emphasis in the writing itself, but some people find this additional tool useful. This costs just $5 per minute of the speech.
